Bandages, and a better start for new players
October 07, 2026 · 18:22
Some changes to help new players find their feet, and bandages for anybody levelling combat without the alchemy to brew their own healing.
Potions and bandages do different jobs. A potion is drunk for you in a fight, the moment your health runs low. A bandage is never used in a fight: use it between fights, or after a death, and it heals over 20 seconds.
New players
- New characters start wearing a club and a cuirass, and carry three minor healing potions
- Characters still near the start who were wearing nothing have been given the same club and cuirass, and potions up to three where their bag has room
- The advice on the Here tab is one short line that changes with what you are doing: what to make next, where its parts come from, where to make it, and where to wear it
- Places and buttons named in that line are links. They open the right tab and circle what you need, but never press it for you
- Hurt with no bandage, the line says where the nearest bandage is sold. Out of potions, it says where the nearest potions are
Bandages
- Ten bandages, from minor to supreme, are sold by vendors in the towns for their level
- Each heals as much as the potion brewed at the same level, over 20 seconds, out of a fight
- Use one from your bag. It is a task like any other, so it can be queued between fights, and Stop keeps what it has healed so far
- A bandage that comes up when you are already at full health is skipped and stays in your bag
Combat
- Dying now tells you where you wake, how long you are weakened, and how many queued tasks were cancelled
- You can no longer drink a potion from your bag at full health
Reference
- A Bandages section, and the combat page explains when each kind of healing is used
- Things a vendor sells are listed at their price, not at what a vendor pays for them
